THE Story BEHIND ENCOMPASS TRAVEL

Travel has always been an important part of my life. Since starting my career I’ve spent nearly 30 years helping people explore the world. I’ve been fortunate to work in cities across Canada as well as in Auckland, New Zealand, before returning home to Calgary. Every opportunity taught me something new and led me to the next step. In 2016, I brought all of that experience together to launch Encompass Travel, driven by a desire to offer personal service and to collaborate with clients, creating custom-planned travels that go beyond expectations.
My love for travel started at a young age with two defining experiences, a year in Europe as a teenager followed by a 3-month trip around India. Since then, I’ve been to 60+ countries, but these early experiences opened my eyes to the world and how travel connects us to people and cultures. This inspired me to build a career in travel, always with people that encouraged me to explore and discover, and to share my experiences for the benefit of my clients.

We have just returned from an absolutely MAGICAL time in French Polynesia, 8 days on Bora Bora and 6 nights on a catamaran sailing the islands. EAST & SOUTHERN AFRICA

My wife has always wanted to visit with the orangutans in Borneo and this year we finally got our chance. Since we were going to be there anyway, we decided to expand our visit to include more of the Indonesian islands. Geordie organized a wonderful adventure for us. We visited four islands (Borneo, Java, Sumba and Bali). On each island, Geordie found just the right excursions for us, our guides were tremendously friendly and informative, and our accommodation on each island was unique and memorable. Geordie has also taken the time to understand what we like and what we don't like and incorporates that knowledge into everything he books for us.
